The General Authority of Customs (GAC) electronic clearance system has completed 3,239,000 statements through land, sea, and air borders.
The Al Nadeeb system electronic system was designed to facilitate commercial and customs operations, focusing on customer satisfaction following the standards of the World Customs Organization and the World Trade Organization agreements.
Al Nadeeb is fully integrated into all ports and customs facilities in Qatar and offers a wide range of services to both the private and public sectors.
Last year, the GAC announced that the window had registered 29,462 companies and completed 294,476 statements in the first quarter of 2021.
The system is a web-based and app customs service explicitly designed to digitise and streamline the customs clearance processes in the country
Besides, last year, the GAC registered 2,469 seizure reports on attempts to smuggle narcotics and prohibited substances. It also participated in five international operations specialized in combating smuggling and illegal trade.
Further, to engage the public in Customs’ processes, the Authority launched the “Kafeh” service. The system was launched to engage community members in combating crimes and customs violations by providing information on the hotline or e-mail designated for the service.
Also, the GAC graduated 25 of its employees studying for (Associate Diploma in Applied Sciences - Customs Administration) at the Community College of Qatar and trained 2,994 employees in 2021.
The Authority also implemented 13 strategic national, most notably in re-engineering and developing procedures, raising the efficiency of anti-money laundering and terrorist financing procedures, adopting security, safety, and occupational health standards, and establishing a knowledge management system.
Last year, the GAC equipped its ports with the latest x-ray examination devices.
It launched a self-service to declare transferred funds so travellers can declare their money, jewellery, or pre-cious metals electronically.
The Authority also became the first administrative gov-ernment entity to obtain four ISO certificates in security and safety after getting accredited by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
