New York: A supplementary agreement to the basic agreement between the State of Qatar and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) was signed at the premises of Qatar Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.
The agreement was signed by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, and HE Executive Director of UNICEF, Catherine Russell.
HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani stressed that the agreement reflects the State of Qatar's commitment to supporting international efforts to protect children and promote their rights, noting that the partnership with UNICEF is an essential part of Qatar's efforts to achieve sustainable development.
For her part, Her Excellency the Executive Director of UNICEF expressed the United Nations' appreciation for the role of the State of Qatar in supporting initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children around the world, stressing that this agreement will contribute to strengthening UNICEF's work and achieving the desired impact for the children most in need.
