Qatar's Permanent Mission to UN hosts three high-level strategic dialogues

New York: The Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations hosted three high-level strategic dialogues at its premises in New York from February 5 to 7, bringing together representatives from the State of Qatar and key United Nations agencies.

The State of Qatar was represented in the dialogues by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani; HE Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, Fahad Al Sulaiti; HE Director of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Nasser Al-Thani; Assistant CEO for Governance and External Relations at Qatar Charity, Mohammed Al Ghamdi; CEO of Silatech and representative of the Education Above All Foundation, Hassan Ali Al Mulla; and Senior Officer for Aviation Policy and Corporate Affairs at Qatar Airways, Mubarak Mohammed Al Dosari.

The series of high-level dialogues commenced with the second round of strategic discussions between the State of Qatar and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The session was attended by a high-level delegation led by HE Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, Joyce Msuya. Discussions focused on strengthening the existing partnership between the State of Qatar and OCHA to address ongoing global crises and challenges, enhancing operational preparedness and response mechanisms, and leveraging visual communication and innovation.

Additionally, a high-level strategic dialogue was held between the State of Qatar and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the participation of a delegation led by HE Administrator of UNDP, Achim Steiner. The discussions centered on UNDP's strategic priorities that align with Qatar's National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030. The dialogue also explored key UNDP proposals to enhance cooperation, drive innovation, and strengthen partnerships, particularly in crisis contexts.

The third high-level strategic dialogue brought together the State of Qatar and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), with a high-level delegation led by Executive Director of UNICEF, Catherine Russell. This dialogue focused on strengthening global partnerships for children by fostering innovation and sustainability, improving education opportunities, enhancing healthcare and nutrition, and ensuring a safe environment conducive to growth and prosperity.

These high-level strategic dialogues underscore the State of Qatar's commitment to deepening its partnership with the United Nations, expanding avenues for cooperation in humanitarian efforts, sustainable development, and crisis response worldwide.
