Baghdad: Four people were killed and two others injured today in an explosion caused by a landmine in the Rumaila desert, located west of Basra in southern Iraq.
According to a security source, the landmine detonated while a family was passing through the Rumaila desert, killing four individuals and injuring two others.
The injured were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, the source added.
Last Monday, a child was killed and another injured due to the explosion of unexploded ordnance in Kirkuk province, in northern Iraq.
