Luxor, Egypt: The Egyptian Tourism Ministry unveiled a 2,600-year-old archeological find consisting of a pot filled with gold jewelry.

“The Egyptian-French archaeological mission of the French-Egyptian Centre for the Study of the Karnak Temples (CFEETK), in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the French National Centre for Scientific Research, was able to uncover a group of ornaments dating back to the beginning of the Twenty-sixth Dynasty, during the excavations carried out by the mission in the northwestern sector of the Karnak Temples,” the Ministry declared in a statement.

The findings included a collection of golden rings, amulets, and jewelry, as well as precious stones from the 26th dynasty that were retrieved from the Karnak Temples in Luxor, Upper Egypt.

Head of the Egyptian Antiquities Sector Professor Mohamed Abdel Badie noted that the jewelry collection included rings made of gold and metals, and small golden amulets that included a triple statue of the ancient Egyptian gods Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, a metal brooch, amulets depicting the ancient Egyptian gods in animal forms, and a large number of beads, some of which are gold-plated.
