QCA President praises success of bilateral cricket series in Doha

President of the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, praised the success of Afghanistan’s ‘home ODI series’ against the Netherlands, which was concluded in Doha recently.

The QCA President said that Doha was able to organise the event in exceptional circum-stances after the Afghan team chose Qatar to host its matches, He noted that the Afghan team had set up a successful preparatory camp in Doha, during which it played a number of friendly and preparatory matches against the first Qatari cricket team, along with playing friendly matches with local clubs was the perfect preparation for the international tournament.

They beat the Netherlands 3-0 in the series.“The Afghan national team succeeded in winning the three matches it played against the Dutch national team and deserved the victory and the positive results it achieved in the strong competition,” said Sheikh Abdulaziz.

“Qatar has succeeded in organising many international tournaments and hosting the bilateral cricket series is an extension of previous successes in Doha's organisation of major international competitions,” he added
