The Ibrahim Saeed Al Malki owned-and-trained In The Night yesterday landed the Gr3 QA Khor Al Adaid Cup with an impressive win in the day’s feature of Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club’s (QREC) 31st Race Meeting at the Al Rayyan Racecourse.
In the Night aced the 2800m contest for four-year-old Thor-oughbreds winning by 3¾ lengths, completing a hat-trick under jockey Tomas Lukasek. QREC Acting CEO, Bader Mohammed Al Darwish, crowned the winners of the Khor Al Adaid Cup.
He earlier honoured the winners of Thoroughbred Pearl -- Fillies & Mares (Class 2). Noora Racing Limited’s Al Ghariyah (GB) (Dutch Art) won the 2000m contest recording a double for jockey Soufiane Saadi and giving trainer Alban de Mieulle his fifth, and straight fourth, win of the day
.On a day of hot races, Umm Qarn’s homebred Sealine (QA) (Amer) landed his 10th success snatching the 1850m Conditions for Local P/As by a neck, giving trainer Alban de Mieulle & jockey Ronan Thomas their 3rd straight win, and also a fourth for the trainer.
The trainer-jockey duo of Alban de Mieulle and Ronan Thomas recorded a quick-fire double and a 3rd win for the trainer with the Umm Qarn-owned Yardan (FR) (Invincible Spirit) taking the 1600m Thoroughbred Handicap (0-90) by quarter of a length.
Trainer Alban de Mieulle recorded a double on the day as he saddled the Umm Qarn-owned Umm Bab (FR) (Al Mamun Monlau) to win the 1600m Handicap (0-90) for Purebred Arabians by two and a half length. The six-year-old horse was ridden to success by Ronan Thomas.
Meanwhile, trainer Debbie Mountain and jockey Eduardo Pedroza teamed up for success as the Hassan Ali Alabdulmalik-owned Always Waitin (USA) (Tamarkuz) was a runaway winner of the 1850m Novice for Thoroughbreds by impressive four lengths.
The first winner of the day was the Patrice Nicolet-owned Good Day (QA) (Lancelot) on the Khor Al Adaid Cup Day as the Alban de Mieulle-trained 4YO colt won the opener, a 1600m Maiden for Local Thorough-breds by a length with Soufiane Saadi in the saddle
