QU, QLC to launch first Arabic Executive Master’s in Leadership

Doha: Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch the first Arabic-language Executive Master’s in Leadership in the fall semester of 2022. QU President Dr. Hassan Al Derham and QLC General Manager Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulla Al Kuwari signed the agreement. 

H E Sheikh Dr. Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Regents at Qatar University, and Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of QLC, emphasized the importance of this landmark, collaborative effort. 

“With this significant milestone, Qatar University has entered the domain of executive education. This is the first executive education master’s degree program to be offered in Arabic by Qatar University. This collaboration between Qatar University and Qatar Leadership Centre enlarges the critical learning opportunities within the field of leadership, which will directly benefit both program graduates and the nation for years to come.”

While commenting on the significance of the agreement with QLC, Dr. Al Derham said, “the agreement comes as part of the University’s goal to collaborate with educational and training institutions to transfer expertise.” He also stated that “the program will provide the country with important expertise in the field of leadership, which is considered an important strategic area in building the country.”

Dr. Al Kuwari highlighted the program’s significance. “Thanks to this partnership with Qatar University, QLC alumni will have an important opportunity to learn, in Arabic, through a customized and highly innovative leadership program with direct impact for their current roles in government and private sector.”
