Over 200 people referred to prosecution for violating Covid-19 precautionary measures

Doha: The designated authorities referred 223 people to the prosecution for Covid-19 precautionary measure violations on Thursday (December 30, 2021).

221 people were reported for not wearing masks, while two was referred to prosecution for not installing the Ehteraz app.

The measures are in line with the Cabinet decision on Covid-19 restrictions, all citizens and residents must continue to wear masks in closed public places.

Wearing mask will be mandatory in all closed and open public places from tomorrow (Friday 31). The only exceptions are for children under six years old and people performing sport and exercise in open places.

"In line with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding infectious diseases, the competent authorities referred several people to the Prosecution for violating COVID19 preventive and precautionary measures in force," Ministry said in a statement.

"The authorities urge the public to adhere to the precautionary and preventive decisions in force to protect them and others from the spread of the Coronavirus in society," the statement added.
