Doha: The Armed Forces concluded the infantry competition for the year 2021, which was held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah and in the presence of Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces H E Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad Al Nabit.
The competition, which is taking place for the 35th consecutive year with organization from the centre of military music and parades, saw participation of 13 units from the Qatari Armed Forces.
The general command forces won first place this year, followed by the centre of military music and parades, while military police came in third place.
In his speech at the concluding event, Commander of the centre of military music and parades Staff Major General Salem Fahd Al Ahbabi thanked the leaders of the armed forces for their support and cooperation to ensure the success of this edition, and thanked commanders of different units along with coaches and individuals.
He also praised the sense of unity that the event reflected this year, and enhanced the sense of solidarity.
