Doha: Qatar University (QU) has launched two new sponsorship programmes for Qataris (STEM Sponsorship and Talents Sponsorship Programmes).
The university also disclosed the launching of Talents Scholarship and International Partnership Scholarship for Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees. In addition, QU revealed the reconstruction of several competitive scholarships that were offered before by renaming some of the scholarships to reflect their nature and the targeted students.
The reconstructing of scholarships scheme aligns with the strategic direction of QU, as well as launching new scholarships aims to serve the strategic goals of the university. Moreover, the requirements of application and the conditions for continuity of the scholarships were revised accordingly.
Dr. Eiman Mustafawi
The Vice-President for Student Affairs Dr. Eiman Mustafawi indicated that this step is aligned with QU's strategic objectives and reflects the interest of the university in recruiting Qatari prospective students who possess a variety of competencies, high academic capabilities and diverse talents in the fields of scientific research, technology and innovation, literature and art, media, and athletics. This in turn will provide the labour market with highly distinguished and capable graduates who can fulfil the needs of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Dr. Mustafawi said by reconstructing the scholarships and sponsorship programmes, QU aims to attract and recruit Qatari and non-Qatari prospective talented students and encourage students to enrol in STEM majors while providing a unique experience to newly admitted students in Qatar University.
