Doha: AFG College with the University of Aberdeen welcomed back a number of high profile local and international organisations to participate in their annual career fair.

The companies exhibiting were from various sectors with many household names being represented, which included Qatar Finance Centre, Qatar Gas, Microsoft, KPMG, PwC, Schlumberger, Qatar Airways, North Oil company, Snoonu, Talabat, Voice of Initiatives, Qatar Primary Materials Company, Nestle, Innovation Café and Mezaya Real estate.

This is the first careers event to be held on campus since COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, and it was gratifying to see over 100 students take advantage of the opportunity to meet with employers to discuss the many employment and internship opportunities that were being offered.

Hamad Saleh Almansouri, Senior Manager Learning and Development at QFC commented, “It’s a great opportunity to meet students face to face at AFG College and discuss the array of career pathways that QFC has to offer, including internships. We believe that internships are a great way for students to learn, in a professional working environment, about real life challenges, whilst at the same time building necessary employability skills, which will assist them during their future careers.”

AFG College Careers and Internships Manager, Ghina Elkasti said, “We were so happy to have such a diverse and eclectic mix of organisations join us for this year’s event.

"Our careers fair gives local organisations the opportunity to connect with students and graduates who are eager to enter the workforce and demonstrate their abilities in the work place.

"It was great to hear first-hand from employers, how useful they found the event and about the valuable conversations they had with students.”
