'National Day an occasion to renew pledge to serve Qatar'

General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Prof Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said that December 18 is an important and special day for every Qatari, as it is the day on which we renew our pledge to serve our dear country, work to be in ranks of developed countries, promote the values of loyalty to our wise leadership, follow the path of the founder and take upon ourselves the responsibility to preserve the homeland, because Qatar deserves the best from its people.

On the coincidence of the countrys celebrations of the National Day with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Director General of Katara said in an exclusive statement to QNA: “Since Qatar won the bid to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the closing ceremony of the World Cup coinciding with the country’s National Day, the goal was to celebrate the country’s wedding with this great global event, which the state has worked on in all its sectors well under way since that date until today. It is a great exceptional opportunity through which the world knows about the State of Qatar, its monuments, its authentic heritage and its noble values. We celebrate this great achievement at the same time that we renew the pledge to continue the path of Qatar’s renaissance and its elevation among countries.”

Since the establishment of the cultural village (Katara) we have been working on exceptional achievements, whether at the level of projects or at the level of events. With regard to investment projects, the last of these projects was project 21 High Street Residence; It is a hotel apartments with a distinctive and different design inspired by the lives of writers and poets, and will include pictures and information about each personality, Al Sulaiti said. 

In addition to the children’s mall project, OliOli Doha. This project was established with a new and attractive concept, as its external structure is in the form of a gift, and it consists of three floors, in addition to some candy and games shops on the ground floor. It also contains a number of educational halls such as Park Future, gallery water, which focus on children’s culture, by providing various and attractive activities for children.

Chedi Katara Hotel and Resort; It is distinguished by its attractive view of Katara Beach and its unique architectural design, in addition to its distinctive location on the top of the hills near the watercourse that connects the Katara Cultural Village and the Diplomatic Club. The project consists of (60) rooms, in addition to (32) Villas with a private swimming pool for each villa, Al Sulaiti added.

Regarding the events organised by Katara, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said that Katara continues its annual events and festivals, such as Katara’s 12th Traditional Dhow Festival. Its 12th edition coincides with the launch of the World Cup. Nine countries participate in it. It includes 50 pavilions between an exhibition and heritage collections, 43 handicrafts, in addition to marine workshops. There are 32 traditional loaders flying the flags of the countries participating in the World Cup at Katara Beach. In addition, Katara presents 51 main events during the hosting period, of which 300 activities are branched out to suit all tastes.

Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti concluded his speech by saying: “We certainly do not forget the continuation of annual festivals throughout the year. They are Arabian Horse Festival, Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi), Halal Qatar Festival, Katara Prize for Arabic Novel, Katara Prize for Holy Quran Recitation, Katara Prize for Prophets Poet, and other festivals and awards, in addition to various exhibitions and events.
