Doha: The Department of Students Assessment at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) held virtual seminars for candidate test administrators and IT technicians in schools participating in the Programme for International Student Assessment known as PISA.

Students from government, private and international schools in the State of Qatar will participate in the programme, as well as community schools, starting from March until April 19 of 2022.

The main themes of the two-day seminar, which was organised by the international assessments’ section at the ministry’s Department of Students Assessments, were centred around two aspects. The first aspect was administrative, as it included all internationally standardised administrative procedures for testing in schools, while the second aspect was technical (for the application of the test), considering that it is applied electronically in the country.

The PISA test includes questions in four subjects: mathematics, science, reading and creative thinking, and the focus will be on the field of mathematics in 2022 - targeting students who are 15 years old and registered in any school in Qatar.

MoEHE implements three international tests in Qatar, which are in addition to the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), and the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS).
