Doha: The Executive Education Centre (EEC), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), is cooperating with the Qatar Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) to deliver an executive training programme for mid-level leaders from various Qatar-based charitable institutions.
The leadership empowerment programme is part of the efforts being made to meet the requirements of human resources development at RACA.
It focuses on the required behaviours and skills for performing job tasks effectively in specialised roles. The programme consists of four training modules including analytical thinking, planning and organisation, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as creativity and innovation skills. The second module was delivered at HBKU from March 1-2. Titled “Modern Skills in Management and Operational Planning”, it aimed to develop the administrative skills of participants, particularly in the field of planning and operational management.
The course covered the following themes: Peculiarity of planning for the public sector and non-profit sector; theory of change and effective operational planning; writing operational objectives; comprehensiveness of the operational plans and modern management concepts. The themes also included agile and soft management; distinguished managerial skills in managing meetings; as well as managing teams and enabling them to make decisions and solve problems.
The training programme used experiential learning based on theoretical and established conceptual aspects combined with an applied practical aspect. It also provided individual practical exercises, participatory interactive tasks, and challenges for groups.
Participants praised the training content and interactive methods, and expressed their appreciation to EEC for the great benefit they received in the areas of management and leadership. The EEC looks forward to completing the next modules of the training programme with the RACA and supporting the administrative and leadership skills of its mid-level leaders.
Aphrodite Hammad, Executive Director at the EEC, said, “We are delighted to have delivered the second module of our leadership empowerment programme, which is especially tailored for RACA’s mid-level leaders. We are thrilled with the positive outcome of this specialised programme and the great
response we received from the participants."
