Doha: January 2022 marks as the second month of winter. Climatologically, it is also the coldest month of the year, according to the monthly climate information recently shared by Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).
"Cold fronts are common during this month with frequent low pressure systems usually accompanied with thunderstorms," stated in the report.
The second week of this month will also likely bring rain alongwith frequent fog cases especially in the first half of January 2022.
On its weather update for today, QMD stated that weather conditions is partly cloudy at times with a chance of scattered rain that may turn thundery at times.
The wind will also blow in the southeasterly to southwesterly direction at moderate to fresh and strong at times.
QMD also reminded citizens and residents of the marine warning during this weather condition.
The mean daily temperature for this month 17.7 degrees Celsius.
The lowest and highest temperature recorded in January is 3.8 degrees Celsius (1964) while the highest is 32.4 degrees Celsius (2015).
