April begins with strong wind and poor visibility

Doha: Strong Northwesterly wind observed at most places causing blowing dust and low horizontal visibility especially at open areas, tweeted the Qatar Meteorology Department. 

The department stated that fresh to strong Northwesterly winds with gust exceeding 35KT inshore and offshore will continue until the middle of the coming week. This will cause blowing dust and an increase in the feeling of coldness. A marine warning has been issued during this period. 

Meanwhile in its climate summary for the second month of Spring, April, the weather department said that the temperature will rise rapidly towards the end of the month. There will be large temperature contrast between day and night. "Some frontal weather with sudden fall of temperature and thunderstorms during early part of the month. Prevailing wind from the North. Sea temperatures steadily rising," added the department in its summary.
