Education Excellence Award ceremony tomorrow

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has made necessary preparations to organise 15th Education Excellence Award ceremony tomorrow to honour 72 winners of the awards in different categories.

CEO of Education Excellence Awar Ali Abdullah Al Buainain said in a statement that honouring outstanding students comes in recognition of their exceptional academic achievement after they fulfil all academic and assessment criteria represented in personal traits, fluency, ability to express, capacity development, skills, creative work, school activities, community contributions, competitions, awards, research, projects and other evaluation criteria.

“Education Excellence Award is considered the highest honour granted to the educational community according to competitive bases, and it is a product of the comprehensive educational renaissance achieved by Qatar at the level of general and university education,” said Al Buainain.

He said that the 15th Education Excellence Award witnessed growing number of participants and winners compared to previous years, especially the university students.

 “As many as 72 candidates won the award this year, including 33 winners who hold university and postgraduate degrees such as masters and doctorates. A total of 267 candidates applied for the award this year,” said Al Buainain.

The Education Excellence Award (EEA) includes nine categories. In the category of primary school students, 16 students won the award. In preparatory school students, four students won the award. As many as 12 students won the award in the category of secondary school students. Under outstanding teacher award category, five teachers won the award. In the category of outstanding School, only one school won the award.

In the category of university graduates, 30 university students won the award. In the category of master degree holders, two students won the award. Only one doctor won the award in the category of PhD degree holders. A research scholar won the award in the category of scientific research for secondary school.
