Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani seeing off H M Sultan Haitham bin Tariq at Doha International Airport, at the conclusion of H M the Sultan's two-day state visit to Qatar, yesterday.
Doha: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and H M Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman visited Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development yesterday.
During the visit, H H the Amir and H M the Sultan were briefed on Qatar Foundation’s history, stages of development and its strategy in the field of education, research and community service, in addition to an overview of the joint cooperation programmes between QF and educational institutions in Oman. They also toured the edifices of international universities, research centres and academic facilities of the Foundation.
After that, H H the Amir and H M the Sultan of Oman visited Qatar National Library, during which they listened to an explanation about the library’s contents from Arab and international sources of knowledge in various sciences, manuscripts, arts, cultures and the history of the region, especially the Heritage Library and the rare manuscripts and old editions it includes that narrate the history of Qatar, the region and the world.
The two leaders were also briefed about the library building, which reflects the library’s vision and message of knowledge.
H H the Amir and H M the Sultan of Oman were accompanied by a number of Their Excellencies Ministers. From the Omani side, they were accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs H H Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, and Their Excellencies members of the official delegation.
Later on, H H the Amir led the farewells to his brother, H M the Sultan of Oman upon his departure at Doha International Airport yesterday, after a two-day state visit to the country.
H M the Sultan and the accompanying delegation were seen off by Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani; Personal Representative of H H the Amir, H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani; and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and Ministers.
His Majesty was also seen off by Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman H E Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Thani and Ambassador of Oman to the State H E Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi.
