Police College Officials: 4th batch of graduates is a qualitative addition to security sector

Doha:  A number of officials at the Police College confirmed that the 4th batch of students nominated to the college, whose graduation was celebrated today, constitutes a qualitative addition to the country's security sector and other military authorities, in light of the approved educational and training programs for students that conform to the highest international standards.

The Advisor to the Minister of Interior and Vice-President of the Supreme Council of the Police College Major General Dr. Abdullah Yousuf Al-Mal, said in a press statement, on the sidelines of the graduation ceremony, that the reality testifies that the Police College has an integrated educational and training system to prepare generations of qualified policemen equipped with distinguished skills and functional capabilities to achieve all the objectives and tasks of the Ministry of Interior, especially the prevention and response to crime.

He added that the Police College employs all possibilities to graduate cadres capable of dealing seriously and aware of the capabilities of modern technical means, and employing them in the face of all forms of newly created crimes, and achieving quality police performance.

For his part, the Director General of the Police College, Brigadier Gen Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, said in a similar statement that the college took a high position among the specialized police colleges in the region, and pursued, during its eight-year career, scientific planning in management, training and academic curricula, and provided its candidate students with an integrated educational environment supported by advanced technologies, and scientifically qualified staff in teaching and training.

He pointed out that the Police College provides the Ministry of Interior with a new batch of security cadres who are equipped with modern sciences in the field of law and police sciences, and have acquired practical and applied skills in the latest security systems in the world.

The Director General of the Police College praised the support of the rational leadership of the college, by providing all capabilities, including the training and administrative staff and modern equipment to implement the approved programs, until the college assumed a high position among its regional and global counterparts, and became a pioneer in its administrative, training and academic systems.

For his part, Assistant Director-General of the Police College Lt. Col. Dr Jabr. Hammoud Al-Nuaimi, said that the college has devoted its efforts to developing and updating the quality programs of the police knowledge and training college in line with international standards, with the aim of strengthening the capabilities of the Ministry of Interior and continuing the process of giving to contribute to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

He added that the college seeks, through the continuous development of its academic and training programs, to achieve its mission of graduating highly skilled police officers who will be able to carry out security tasks in a professional manner.

The Assistant Director-General of the Police College affirmed its keenness to harmonize between the academic theoretical and field practical aspects to ensure that the student obtains the best expertise in the police fields. In this context, he pointed out that the college is also focusing on the latest developments in the world of crime, especially in the field of cybercrime.

On the training programs, Lt. Colonel Fahd Saeed Al Subaie, head of the Training Unit, said that the college adopts the best training programs at the regional and international levels and is working to develop them and build programs that can be applied on the field to ensure high training and equipped outputs from officer candidates to be a support for the security sector.

He stressed that the college believes that professional military and sports training develops skills and enhances the meanings of patience and endurance among students, as well as instilling the values of discipline, courage, commitment, discipline and military connectivity, in addition to developing thinking skills to solve problems in the fastest and safest way and to reach the desired goals.

He pointed out that the number of academic hours acquired for the 4th batch at the Police College amounted to 130 hours for theoretical courses of all kinds, while the number of practical training hours reached 48 hours in the field of crime scenes and 60 other training hours in security departments, in addition to the hours of sports training, which numbered up to 780 hours, including 574 hours in fitness, 152 hours in self-defense and 54 hours in swimming.
