Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education amended the terms and conditions of the Acceleration System, that allows outstanding students to skip grades and advance to higher grades according to specific criteria.
The amendments include allowing students of all nationalities who pass the first round exam to take the acceleration exam in the second round of the same academic year, in addition to specifying the permitted grades according to approved schedule.
The percentages required to apply and pass the test have also been modified, as the criteria differ between day education students and adult and home education students, as well as between Qatari and non-Qatari students.
The Ministry confirmed that the promotion rules will not apply to students applying for the Acceleration System Test, and that the system does not include students in the support category (third level).
A student is allowed to apply only once for each academic stage according to the approved schedule. The test questions will be prepared centrally by the Ministry through a joint team from the Student Evaluation Department and the Educational Guidance Department, and the application dates for the acceleration tests will be announced at a later time.
