Doah: Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Sulaiti affirmed that this year’s Qatar National Day celebration carries many meanings, values, and principles, and reflects a different image from previous years. 

In an exclusive statement to QNA, the Minister said this year’s glorious occasion that is dear to the heart of every Qatari citizen will be celebrated with the whole world through the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that Qatar is hosting.

He noted that Qatar’s success has proven its eligibility to organise this major international tournament in view of its great and honourable credit in organising major events, remarkable achievements in all fields, distinguished and prestigious position at the regional and international levels thanks to the wise policy of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

This year’s Qatar National Day slogan “Our unity is the source of our strength” embodies the true meaning of what the State of Qatar has achieved throughout its history that is full of glories and victories since the era of the founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. 

He pointed out that under this national unity, the State withstood the difficult conditions and won all its battles, through it, the Qatari people were able to turn dreams into reality, aspirations into achievements, and aspirations into successes. With this unity, the State of Qatar organized the most wonderful tournament in the history of the World Cup, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs said.

He said as the country celebrates  National Day, the Cabinet’s General Secretariat is working with all its efforts to keep pace with the comprehensive development renaissance in the country, within the framework of its competencies and tasks assigned to it, foremost of which is the preparation and review of legislation. 

In this field, it has approved many draft laws, decisions, and regulations that regulate the various aspects of life and transactions in the country, including the economic, social, and health fields, including draft laws regulating real estate registration and documentation, and handling, classification, preservation, and protection of public, historical, national, and other documents. 

Within the framework of implementing the directives of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani regarding the development of justice systems to achieve prompt justice, the Cabinet recently approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Law of Criminal Procedure, and referred to the Shura Council draft laws on the Judicial Authority and Public Prosecution, he explained.
