Doha: Minister of Justice H E Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri affirmed that celebrating this year’s Qatar National Day, which coincides with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, has a historical significance that combines pride in the wise leadership and the great achievements that enhance the development renaissance in various fields.
He congratulated Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, and Qatari people and residents on the anniversary of the National Day.
In a special statement to QNA, the Minister indicated that the major achievements that the legislative and legal system has been at the forefront of major achievements that enhance our development renaissance in various fields, as well as consolidating the principles of prompt justice thanks to the wise vision and leadership of H H the Amir.
In addition to, he said, the tight and informed planning of the government, headed by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, with the aim of achieving a vision, ideas, continuous development and modernisation that contributes to improving performance and upholding the values of citizenship and the rule of law.
The Minister pointed out that hosting the World Cup created commitments and guarantees from the government of Qatar and FIFA, which necessitated the creation of a legislative mechanism that constitutes a comprehensive framework for these obligations, represented by Law No. 10 of 2021, adopting legal measures to host the tournament.
He added that the Ministry of Justice has prepared an ambitious programme for training, rehabilitation and legal awareness activities to support the national efforts to host the tournament in cooperation and coordination with the competent authorities.
On the ministry’s achievements and future plans, he pointed out that the ministry has made many achievements that keep pace with Qatar National Vision 2030, especially the vital projects and initiatives that are in line with Qatar Digital Government projects, and the sectoral plans of the National Development Strategy 2018-2022.
He revealed that 35 legal and service projects were implemented within the strategic plan of the Ministry of Justice 2020-2022, which has been classified by the Planning and Statistics Authority as a model plan to be measured against, indicating that these projects include various fields related to supervising the practice of legal professions, ensuring the provision of electronic services with accuracy and high quality to all citizens and residents, providing legal training to the target groups in the legal system of the country, and coordinating with government agencies regarding cases filed by or against them.
Regarding the Ministry’s plans on digital transformation, the Minister stated that the work is underway to convert the services of the Ministry of Justice into electronic services within an integrated plan for the digital transformation process, in order to restructure many public services, and to increase the number of services provided to 209 electronic services, most of which are provided in an integrated electronic form.
He added that the State Cabinet approved two draft laws prepared by the Ministry on the regulation of real estate registration and documentation, with reference to the launch of the upgraded version of the online state lawsuits system.
