Mwani Qatar CEO, Captain Abdullah Mohammed Al Khanji, said the National Day is a great annual occasion to recall the historical memories and the great achievements of the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani to inspire loyalty, solidarity, unity and pride in the national identity from his life and struggle, which he devoted to serve this generous country.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar National Day (QND), he stressed that this occasion comes at a time when the State of Qatar is strengthening its regional and international role at various political, economic, social and environmental levels under the wise leadership of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Al Khanji noted the prestigious position that the State of Qatar has occupied on the world map in the field of maritime transport and logistics thanks to the great role played by Hamad Port, Qatar’s main gateway to world trade. This great occasion, he said, renews loyalty to our leadership, wishing it continued prosperity and wellness, and our beloved country, Qatar, more progress and prosperity.
He also hailed the strategic role of Hamad Port in supporting the strategic plan of the Ministry of Transport aimed at transforming Qatar into a vibrant regional trade hub, pointing out that the port has become today one of the most important trade ports in the Middle East, as it acquired 28 percent share in the volume of trade in the Middle East.
Hamad Port also offers direct and indirect shipping services to more than 100 destinations around the world at competitive prices, he said, noting that the port has succeeded in handling more than 6 million containers and more than 13 million freight tons of general cargo since the start of operations.
CEO of Mwani Qatar referred to the Private Boats Mooring Fields Project which aims to provide some 1,000 mooring slips in Al Wakra, Al Khor, Al Dhakira and Al Ruwais harbours, underlying that the project contributes to boosting economic development, raising the efficiency and sustainability of the harbours’ service facilities, helping in regulating mooring of private boats, facilitating the process of towing and unloading of boats and protecting property of individuals, in accordance with the latest quality, security and safety standards.
