Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar H E Andriy Kuzmenko stressed on the depth and strength of the existing relations and partnership between his country and the State of Qatar, and the desire and aspiration of the two countries to develop them in various fields.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of National Day, the Ukrainian Ambassador said “despite the challenging 2021, we are extremely proud of the multifaceted partnership we have developed with Qatar in various areas. Undoubtedly, the most prominent example is that the President of Ukraine and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have managed to meet twice and discuss the topics of great importance for both the countries. In Ukraine we do value our relations and partnership with such an important regional and international player.”
The Ukrainian Ambassador expressed his hope that the positive trajectory of the bilateral relationship will continue as well as the multidimensional cooperation between the two countries will give its generous fruits.
He said that he is fully confident that the traditionally friendly and mutually beneficial Ukrainian-Qatari relations will go even further in the years to come and will develop in the spirit of partnership and true friendship.
On the other hand, he praised the distinguished and great efforts and measures taken by Qatar to combat COVID-19 and limit its repercussions after its wide spread in the world during 2021. “Qatar hastened to adopt a set of flexible proactive measures to prevent the spread of the virus, accompanied by financial stimulus policies for the affected sectors. These policies had an important role in reviving the resilience of the Qatari economy,” he said.
He also valued the remarkable and early arrangements made by Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as well as the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, which brings together the best Arab teams.
“When Qatar received the right to host the World Cup, of course, the ambition to host the very first version of the World Cup in the Middle East and the Arab world was an engine of all the remarkable efforts taken by the country to prepare for it,” the Ambassador noted.
