Doha: Chairman of Qatar Chamber (QC) Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani said that Qatar National Day is a precious occasion in which the meanings of solidarity and cooperation are evident, as well as loyalty to parents and grandparents
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion, Sheikh Khalifa expressed on his and QCs Board of Directors and the private sectors behalf warmest congratulations to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on an occasion dear to everyones hearts.
He affirmed that the private sector is proud of the great support given by the wise leadership as a real partner in the development process the country is witnessing. Sheikh Khalifa said that the private sector pledges to H H the Amir that it will do what it can to achieve the goals sought by the State, whether at the level of Qatar National Vision 2030 or beyond.
QC Chairman noted that this year’s National Day celebration is distinctive because it coincides with Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, as well as the countdown to hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the global event that is anticipated by all countries of the world, which will turn their eyes to the State of Qatar to follow up on the best hosting of the international championship.
He also pointed out that the State of Qatar completed projects related to the FIFA World Cup a year before its launch, despite the repercussions of the global pandemic crisis, and considered it a great success that will enhance the strength and competitiveness of Qatar’s economy, increase the confidence of the countries of the world in their national economy, and attract more global investments to it.
The Qatari economy witnessed a recovery in 2021 from the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, in light of the easing of restrictions imposed on business activities and freedom of movement since mid-2021, he noted.
Sheikh Khalifa said that during 2021, QC continued its efforts to support and develop the business sector in the country and to encourage investment and facilitate its growth. It has also accompanied the achievements of the State and succeeded in proving its role as a representative of the Qatari private sector, and its goal is to work to support, promote, develop and protect the interests of companies and institutions as the voice of the business community in the country.
