Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Preparation of the Third National Development Strategy for Qatar, chaired the first meeting of the committee, yesterday.
The meeting represents the official launch of the process of preparing the third development strategy and an extension of the strategic planning in the country to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV) and its development pillars, which stipulated transforming Qatar into an advanced country capable of achieving sustainable development and ensuring a high standard of living for its people and future generations.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior stressed the importance of standing on the preliminary results of implementing the Second National Development Strategy 2018-2022, which will conclude its work by the end of this year. His Excellency noted in this regard the importance of drawing lessons learned from them and the challenges they faced to avoid and overcome them.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of all government agencies during the past period and the importance of their synergy for the coming period in preparing their strategic development plans in line with QNV.
Also, H E the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior stressed the role and tasks of the committee and the importance of the effective participation of all parties—through the governance structure adopted by the committee— in the planning processes at its various stages, in a way that reflects national aspirations and development priorities.
