Kinshasa: 25 people were killed on Monday and at least 30 others survived, when a boat carrying them capsized on the Kwa River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A local official said that most of the victims were football players, as they were on the boat on their way back from a match in the city of Moshi.
He suggested that poor visibility at night was the cause of the tragic accident.
The rivers of the Congo are a major means of transportation for more than 100 million people, especially in remote areas.
