The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) yesterday hosted the first meeting of the Advisory Board for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Programs, chaired by Dr. Khalid Al Abdulqader, CCQ Vice President.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier General Dr. Ali Saeed Al Shuaibi, Director of Supply and Equipment Development Centre in the Qatar Armed Forces; Abdulaziz Al Yafei, Executive Vice President of Operations at Qatar Ports Management Company (Mawani Qatar); Salem Mohammed Al Marri, Assistant Executive Director of Logistics and Supplies at Hamad Medical Corporation; Eng. Abdulrahman Al Suroor, Operations Manager, Economic Zones Company – Qatar (Manateq); Atif Boutadghar, Operations Manager at Gulf Warehouse Company; Hisham Abdel Halim, Director of Logistics Department at Qatalum; Dr. Adel Elomri, Assistant Professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University; and Dr. Muneer Abbad, Logistics Programs Coordinator at CCQ.
The Advisory Board for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Programs discussed various topics, including assessing employment needs in the Qatari labour market for the specialisation of logistics and supply chain management and developing a mechanism to involve local and international institutions in supporting students to complete their graduation research and projects.
The board also discussed some suggestions related to the possibility of establishing joint projects between the college and the various sectors of the community to enhance students’ experience and develop their skills and expertise, including cooperation with international educational institutions that grant professional certificates in the field of logistics and supply chain services.
