Qatar Reads feature an interactive and fun way to encourage children  on  reading  through    specially designed programs. It currently participates in the 31st Doha International Book Fair which will run until tomorrow, January 22.

Qatar Reads, an initiative of Qatar  Foundation,  aims  to  create a national drive to com-municate    importance    of    reading, and interest in reading amongst all residents, especially children   and   youth.   In   a   message, Qatar Reads invites people to visit its pavilion at the fair located at Doha Exhibition Convention Center.

“Our  most-loved  reading  programs are headed your way at the  International Doha Book Fair! Create your own  reading package, share your experience on    motherhood,  select  your  best  learned    Read  To  Lead  values,  and  play  our  school  membership  crossword.  You  can also register on spot for the program you like! We can’t wait to see you there,” it said.

The pavilion also features an exquisite art gallery, show-casing  artwork  inspired  by  famous  quotes  from  books.

Among the artists include Tiflah AlNaimi,  Nancy  Makhould,  Reem Zaghmout, Noor Bahzad, and Amna AlBaker.

Moreover, it also engages the  public  on  its  interactive  activities like “What makes you read?” where you pick a string accordingly  either  you are a  Lifelong  Learner,  Educator,  University   Student,   School   Student and make connections between what inspires you to read.

Also, Reading encourages self-reflection where you select a value you can gain through reading  and  stick  it  on the  mirror.

Among  Qatar  Reads pro-grams are  School  Membership, Mommy to be, Family Reading Program, and Read to Lead  where  interested individuals can subscribe directly to the booth.

School  Membership  is  a  programme for   K-12   to   create  tailor-made reading programmes for students.

Family Reading Program  is  a  monthly book subscription program.

It    curates   and   selects    two    books    each    month      for      children between  the  ages  of  three  to 12, and delivers them straight to your home.

The  books  send  out  are  uniquely  designed  to  one’s  child’s age, interests, and pref-erences.   In   addition,   each   month has a special theme, and the books are complemented by  activity  sheets  and  much  more.

With all children reading the same theme, Qatar Reads creates a network for children of all ages to gather as a com-munity through shared interests and experiences
