With the increase in daily COVID-19 cases reported in the country, Hamad Medical Corpo-ration (HMC) has initiated a campaign urging public to take responsibility and follow precautionary measures to control the third wave.
Similar to the first and second wave, the third wave too will be controlled if public act with social responsibility, said Medical Director of the Communicable Diseases Center at Hamad Medical Cor-poration (HMC), Dr. Mona Al Maslamani.
“We know that individuals are the carriers of this virus to the weak people in the society such as elderly and people with chronic diseases. We must keep this group of people safe by following pre-cautionary measures and taking the vaccine,” Dr. Al Maslamani said in an awareness message.
“Because we all are in the same situation, as we passed the first and second waves, we shall pass the third wave by acting with social responsibility. We are always available round the clock to ensure your health and safety. Please follow precautionary measures for your safety and the safety of others,” she added.
In another video HMC has emphasized the role played by the Communicable Disease Center since the start of the pandemic.
The Communicable Disease Center has been one of HMC’s main hospitals dedicated to treating patients with COVID-19. “The Center’s expert medical teams have worked tirelessly for the past two years to ensure patients with COVID-19 are given the very best medical care possible. Please play your part in fighting the pandemic by getting your booster vaccine dose and following the precautionary measures,” said HMC.
Officials have said that the third wave in Qatar began about weeks ago; however, the cases started increasing since mid of October. Though the third wave is witnessing fast transmission of COVID-19, in most of the cases symptoms are mild and moderate due to the high immunity/anti-bodies in the community result of large number of vaccinations.
