Doha, Qatar: According to the latest report from the Department of Meteorology, the inshore weather until 6:00 pm on Friday is expected to range from partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of scattered rain accompanied by possible thunderstorms.
In addition, there may be instances of blowing dust in certain areas, resulting in reduced horizontal visibility.
The Department warns of thundery rain combined with strong winds, which could contribute to poor visibility conditions.
The wind inshore is expected to start off as variable but will mainly shift to a northeasterly to southeasterly direction, with speeds ranging from 08 to 18 knots. However, during the occurrence of thundery rain, the wind may intensify and reach speeds of up to 30 knots.
Offshore, the wind will predominantly be northeasterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 10 to 20 knots. During thundery rain, gusts may reach up to 35 knots.
Visibility is anticipated to be between 04 to 08 kilometers, but it may decrease significantly to 2 kilometers or less during thundery rain, resulting in poor visibility conditions.
In terms of the sea state, inshore waters will experience waves measuring 2 to 4 feet, with occasional rises to 5 feet.
Offshore, the sea state will range from 3 to 6 feet, but during thundery rain, it may surge to as high as 12 feet.
