Doha, Qatar: The Shura Council took part on Tuesday in the virtual coordination meeting of the Gulf Parliamentary Group, in preparation for the 150th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly and the 215th session of the Governing Council, set to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from April 3 to 9.
The Council was represented at the meeting by Member of the Shura Council HE Yousef bin Ali Al Khater.
The meeting discussed several topics related to the IPU meetings, focusing on coordinating the GCC position, particularly regarding nominations to fill available vacancies in the IPU's permanent committees.
It also discussed urgent items on the Assembly's agenda and facilitated an exchange of views and proposals on these matters.
