Indian Sports Centre celebrates International Women’s Day with a series of empowering events

Doha: Indian Sports Centre, in collaboration with various community organizations, successfully organized a series of events to celebrate International Women’s Day, starting from March 5, 2025 and culminating on March 9, 2025.

The events aimed to promote health, wellness and awareness among women.

On March 5, the events kicked off on with an insightful session on Nutrition and Vitality conducted by Tooney John, a clinical dietician from Aster Hospital.

The session, was held at ICC Ashoka, focused on the importance of balanced nutrition and its role in enhancing vitality and overall health.

Following the session, a fun and engaging penalty shootout for ladies was organized, adding a sporty twist to the day.

The event was conducted in association with the Fun Day Club, ensuring a lively and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants.

On March 7, the Indian Sports Centre, with the support of Kerala Women’s Initiative Qatar and the Indian Women’s Association, organized an evening walkathon at Al Muntazah Park.

The session was inaugurated by Bindu Nair, Second Secretary from The Embassy of India.

The event saw a large turnout of women from diverse backgrounds, who came together to promote fitness and solidarity.

The walkathon emphasized the importance of physical activity in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and fostering community spirit.

The celebrations continued on International Women’s Day itself, March 8, with a serene group yoga session held at Barwa City Park at 8am.

The session, led by experienced instructors provided participants with an opportunity to rejuvenate their minds and bodies through yoga, reinforcing the connection between physical and mental well-being.

The next day, a session on Mental Health and Wellness was conducted by Joji Mathew, a distinguished expert held at MIE Pune University.

The session addressed the importance of mental health, offering practical tips and strategies for managing stress and enhancing emotional resilience.

The day concluded with a series of indoor games for ladies, providing a fun and interactive way to celebrate the occasion.

Indian Sports Centre’s International Women’s Day brought together women from all walks of life to focus on health, wellness, and community bonding.
