Qatar participates in meetings on sidelines of 69th session of Commission on the Status of Women

New York: Minister of Social Development and Family HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi took part in the ministerial roundtable Beijing+30 held on the sidelines of the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, convened at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

During her participation, Her Excellency highlighted the importance of accelerating social protection efforts as a key tool for promoting the rights of women and girls and for creating a supportive environment that empowers them in various fields.


She also took part in a second ministerial roundtable on national mechanisms for achieving gender parity and empowerment of women and girls. In that session, Her Excellency discussed reaffirming the commitment to implement the Beijing Platform for Action, ensuring that the necessary resources are allocated, and expediting its implementation at the national level.

She added that this meeting also aims to contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals and ensure that women and girls have access to opportunities and resources that enhance their roles in society. Her Excellency presented her perspectives on sharing expertise in financial inclusion and investment, underscoring Qatars support for international efforts to address shared crises and challenges.

Moreover, she joined a partners roundtable on the importance of core resources for women and emerging financing partners, where she discussed the role of women and ways to boost their economic and social participation.

Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family, participated in the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, held in New York. The countrys delegation was headed by HE the Minister of Social Development and Family.
