Doha: From fine dining to street food nibbles, the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) is set to take visitors on a gastronomic journey starting today at 4pm at Lusail Boulevard.

In a breathtaking setting at Al Saad Plaza, between the famous Lusail towers at Lusail Boulevard, famed for the World Cup Qatar 2022 finals festivities, the festival’s 12th edition will celebrate the greatest cuisines in the world.

Over 100 kiosks are featured during the 11-day event, and as 2023 marks the Year of Culture between Qatar and Indonesia, the public can savour the very best of this Southeast Asian cuisine. Founded in 2012, Years of Culture is a yearly international exchange that deepens understanding between the people of Qatar and other nations.

Along with an enormous selection of food options from all over the world, there will also be a nightly cooking show, two premium catered food lounges created in partnership with five-star hotels, daily entertainment like roaming acts and shows.

The festival will also have a skating rink for the whole family, kids activities, food-related workshops, and fireworks displays every day at 8pm.

Residents and visitors can also look forward to an immersive culinary journey by Le Petit Chef. The unforgettable experience of delightful dining and sophisticated theatre is among the exhibitors participating for the 12th edition of the festival.

Le Petit Chef is the smallest chef in the world, just 6cm. The show is accompanied with themed music, props, and an excellent menu employing 3D projection mapping. And on your dining table, a little chef comes to life thanks to the wonder of visual mapping.

Meanwhile, food lovers cannot contain their excitement as the country’s biggest culinary celebration is about to start.

Alicia from Colombia said: “As a foodie, I am ready. Ready to have a feast this weekend.”

“I have to stop my diet first because of this food festival. I am looking forward for the Indonesia food booth because it’s been a long time since I came to Bali and I wanted to taste again the authentic cuisine from there,” said Kristine Ocampo from the Philippines.

People wishing to attend the festival should register for free via visitqatar.com. QIFF is open on weekdays, from 4pm to 11pm, while on weekends, from 4pm to 1am.
