Doha: The International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) has announced that Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has won the honour of hosting the 39th ICSEI event to be held in 2026. The congress is one of the world’s most prominent events focused on advancing education.
The announcement was made in the presence of Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Australia, H E Ali bin Saad Al Hajri, along with members of the preparatory committee, Dr. Asmaa Issa Al Fadala and Dr. Ibrahim Abdul wahab Al Houti.
Hosting this event aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, which places significant emphasis on education and scientific research. Doha’s advanced infrastructure and world-class academic institutions make it an ideal destination for such international events.
Commenting on this occasion, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, H E Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, said, “Qatar’s hosting of ICSEI 2026 reflects our firm commitment to advancing educational systems and fostering the exchange of expertise with global academic institutions.
“We believe that such conferences provide an important platform to discuss innovations and policies that enhance education quality and achieve sustainable development goals.”
Dr. Asmaa Issa Al Fadala stated that hosting the conference in Qatar— as the first Gulf country to do so — is an opportunity to share Qatar’s vision for improving education through innovation and international partnerships.
She looked forward to creating a platform for dialogue and cooperation between researchers and educators from around the world.
The conference serves as a scientific platform bringing together policymakers, teachers, and researchers from over 80 countries to discuss the latest educational trends and policies, and to enhance the exchange of knowledge and experiences to ensure sustainable educational transformation.
Scheduled to be held from January 18 to 22, 2026, at the College of Education, Qatar University, the conference will be themed, “Beyond Borders in Education: Promoting Innovative, Inclusive, and Sustainable Learning.”
The programme will include panel discussions, interactive workshops, and keynote lectures featuring a distinguished group of experts and specialists in education and educational leadership. Additionally, there will be field visits to educational institutions in Qatar to observe innovative practices in the Qatari education sector.
