New Delhi: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attended Tuesday at Rashtrapati Bhavan Palace an official dinner banquet hosted by President of the Republic of India HE Droupadi Murmu, in honor of His Highness and his accompanying delegation.
At the beginning of the banquet, held on the occasion of HH the Amir's state visit to the Republic of India, HE the President delivered a speech welcoming HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation, expressing her thanks to His Highness for the visit, and lauding the level of Qatar-India relations.

Your Excellency the Prime Minister,

Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the outset, I would like to thank Your Excellencies for the noble sentiments you have expressed, and to express my delight at visiting your venerable country, which has reaffirmed the strength of the friendly relations and cooperation between our two countries, and the historical dimensions of these relations, especially after 52 years of establishing diplomatic relations, which have been characterized, especially in recent years, by increasing and remarkable development, especially in the field of joint cooperation in the energy sector, with the two countries signing an important deal last year, in addition to the growth in the field of mutual trade and investments.
Today, the two countries sealed a strategic partnership agreement, a wonderful step that reflects their commitment to developing cooperation across various fields and bolstering ties between the peoples of the two countries.
In this context, I would like to express our appreciation to the Indian community in Qatar, which plays a vital role in the development process of our country, and constitutes a social and cultural bridge between the two friendly peoples.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As we observe Indias remarkable progress across all areas, we are confident that the Indian economy will continue to boom in the coming decades. Building on the historical ties that bind our two countries, and in order to serve our shared interests, we affirm our commitment to providing reliable and secure sources of energy, including the bilateral cooperation in the field of renewable energy, which is an essential part of our future strategies.
I would like to reiterate our keenness to continue supporting and strengthening the strong relations between our two countries. I thank you once again for the warm welcome and hospitality we have received, and I wish your friendly country further progress and prosperity.

The dinner banquet was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Their Excellencies the members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir and a number of businessmen.
