Doha, Qatar: Qatar University (QU) has announced the collaboration with Google Cloud aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of Qatar University, as part of the framework agreement with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
"As one of the leading universities in the Middle East, Qatar University is committed to providing its students and faculty with innovative technology solutions that enhance learning, research, and administrative processes, and the collaborations enable the university to deliver on this commitment," a QU statement said.
Under the collaboration, Google Cloud will work closely with QU to provide cloud technology solutions that will enable the university to enhance its digital capabilities and improve its services to students and faculty. The collaboration will help QU improve data analytics, streamline operations, and optimise resources, ultimately providing an enhanced experience for all.
“Digital transformation is an important part of Qatar University’s strategy, and a vital element for continued innovation” said Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, President of Qatar University. He added: “Our aim is to build digital competency, digitalization of QU operations and sectors and implement a smart campus infrastructure. All talents in QU will make use of this partnership to implement their ideas and help translate them using this platform.”
QU will leverage the newly opened Google Cloud region in Doha to securely store critical business data and leverage its scalability in its operations.
