Department of Meteorology warns of expected thundery rain, strong wind, high sea

Doha, Qatar: Weather inshore until 6pm on Wednesday will be hazy at places at first becomes moderate in temperature and partly cloudy to cloudy at times with a chance of scattered rain, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report.

On its social media, it added that light rain was observed in some areas, including Doha City. 

Offshore, it will partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, maybe thundery at places at times, the report added, warning of expected thundery rain associated with strong wind and high sea.

Wind inshore will be northeasterly to southeasterly at a speed of 05 - 15 KT, gusting to 21 KT at times.

Offshore, it will be northeasterly to southeasterly at a speed of 05 - 15 KT, gusting to 25 KT with thundery rain.

Sea state inshore will be 1 - 3 ft, rising to 5 ft with thundery rain.

Offshore, it will be 2 - 4 ft, rising to 8 ft with thundery rain.

Visibility inshore will be 4 - 9 km and offshore will be 5 - 9 km.
