Doha: The Qatar Amateur Radio Society (QARS) launched a main station at its headquarters in celebration of the National Sport Day 2025, under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Development and Family.
The society announced that the station operated over the course of February 9, 10, and 11 to highlight the significance of this event over the airwaves. The society used its special international call sign for National Sport Day, with operators taking turns at different time intervals to connect with amateur radio enthusiasts worldwide.
The QARS participated in the National Sport Day activities using the international call sign A71QSD, symbolising Qatar Sports Day. This call sign was assigned by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) and can be used across various communication channels, including the society’s transmitter via Qatar’s EshailSat-2 satellite or terrestrial communication within the frequency bands designated by the CRA, which comply with the International Telecommunication Unions radio regulations.
QARS is committed to participating annually in national and community events.
