A high-octane Qatar Airways Premier Division Cricket Tournament final is on the cards as defending champions Warriors Club take Asian Club head on at the Asian Town Stadium today.

Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) and Qatar Airways have been involved in a long association with an aim to develop the sport all over the country through competition. The fruitful partnership has resulted in Qatar rising to ICC T20 ranking 21st.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, H E Akbar Al Baker, said: “For many years, Qatar’s expat community has long been passionate about cricket, and this tournament is a testament to the ever-growing popularity of the sport amongst local residents. As the Main Sponsor of the Qatar Airways Premier Division Cricket Tournament 2021, we hope to inspire the next generation of budding cricketers to excel in the sport, and continue to bring people of various backgrounds together.”

The final will begin at 7.30am while the prize distribution ceremony is set at 5.35 pm.

Warriors Club and Asian Club are armed with most of the Qatar national team players. Led by Assad Borham, Warriors Club suffered one loss during the league, having lost to Tusker Club due to their poorer runs per over average. Asian Club faced two defeats (Tusker Club and Warriors Club) before they reached the knock-out.
