A dance performance by the KSCA children
Doha: Kerala Social and Cultural Association (KSCA) Doha organised a cultural festival to celebrate Onam recently at ITCC Guest House in Umm Salal Qatar. Indian Embassy Deputy High Commission Rajkumar Singh was the chief guest for the function.
Class 12 meritorious students of KSCA for 2015-16 were honoured, which was followed by the unveiling of ticket for the upcoming program Sargasandhya 2016 to be held on November 24 at Regency Halls. The cultural evening would feature famous comedian / mimicry artist Ramesh Pisharody, male playback singer Sudeep Kumar, female playback singer Preetha Kannan, and Keyboard artist Kochukrishnan Rajamohan.
The celebration saw traditional onam programmes such as Chendamelam, Thiruvathira, Onapattu, Thumbithullal, Vallapattu, etc.
Host for the day was well known Chakyar Koothu artist Santosh Pulani, who engaged the audience with interesting tidbits about every performance.
Another highlight for the day was the mohiniattam performance by Kalamandalam Ajitha.
Around 400 people including members and guests enjoyed the traditional feast Onasadya.
KSCA President R Anilkumar, Ex President V A Gopinath, Vice President Mohana Kumar, General Secretary Vamadevan Nair, Cultural Secretary Satheesh Thattath, KSCA Ladies Wing Secretary Beena Thampi and Onam Program Chief Coordinator Raman Nair addressed the gathering on the occasion.
