Doha, Qatar: Authorities warn users to stay vigilant against online fraud methods in fundraising.
In a joint social media post, the Qatar Central Bank (QCB), National Cyber Security Agency, Ministry of Interior (MoI), and Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority shared guidelines to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes targeting donors and illegally collecting funds.
The suggested guidelines include:
- Donate only through official and accredited charitable organisations.
- Be wary of individuals or groups requesting donations via phone, email, or social media platforms.
- Avoid donation requests that use emotional appeals to manipulate you.
