Cairo: Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of the Sudan Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan affirmed Sudan's support for the Egyptian-Arab initiative to reconstruct Gaza without displacing the Strip's residents.
In his speech during the Extraordinary Arab Summit on the Palestinian issue in Cairo on Tuesday, Al Burhan said that they meet today to affirm in this summit the unified Arab position rejecting any attempts aimed at displacing the Palestinians from their land, while supporting the effective diplomatic movement of the Arab countries at the regional and international levels.
He reiterated Sudan's firm and supportive stance toward the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and its rejection of any plans aimed at displacing the Palestinians from their land.
Regarding developments in Sudan, Al Burhan stressed that Sudan is moving forward to restore stability and peace in the areas occupied by the Rapid Support Forces, emphasizing its full readiness to stop military operations whenever the Rapid Support Forces withdraw from the areas it occupies and lift the siege on the city of Al Fashir and the rest of the cities of the Darfur region.
