DOHA: InterContinental Doha, together with the Icelandic Group, is bringing a host of fresh seafood and specialties all the way from Iceland to Doha on November 2 and 3, 2018.
Icelandic chefs from the National Team of Chefs in Iceland together with InterContinental Doha’s executive chefs will prepare and showcase fresh natural products from Iceland during lunch and dinner time at InterContinental Doha’s Coral All-Day Dining restaurant.
The products that will be showcased during this event are: Arctic Char, Cod, Salmon, Lamb, and SKYR prepared by top-class Icelandic and local chefs. SKYR is a famous and unique Icelandic food product made from dairy.
The prelude to this promotion, Dr. Karl Georg Sigurbjörnsson and Magnús Jónatansson natives of Iceland together with Abdel Halim Elsalmi, a Qatar citizen, have been working together on a project called Lifriki in Qatar, which focuses on the environment and education on a global scale.
“Because of Lifriki, I have been to Iceland several times and have experienced their food and culture first-hand. This led me to the idea in bringing these fresh, natural, and world-class products to Qatar. By bridging InterContinental Doha and the Icelandic team, together, we will make that happen,” says Abdel, General Manager of Kansas Projects based in Qatar.
