Doha, Qatar: Lusail Boulevard was once again beaming as it hosted its first Eid Al Adha celebrations yesterday. The highlight of the festivities was a spectacular fireworks display that illuminated the skies above Al Sa’ad Plaza in a mesmerising array of colours.

While the fireworks were scheduled for a single day, the Eid decorations and special lighting will continue to adorn the boulevard until July 5, extending the festive ambience throughout the city for several more days.

As in previous celebrations such as the April Eid festival and the May Darb Lusail Flower Festival, the entire stretch of Lusail Boulevard has been adorned with special decorations and displays, creating an enchanting atmosphere.

Hundreds of people flocked to Lusail Boulevard to join in the festivities. Among them was Inna from Canada, who expressed her delight in returning to the boulevard, which evoked memories of last year’s World Cup. She remarked: “Though the atmosphere doesn’t compare to the World Cup, it’s wonderful to see this area hosting various events, bringing people together and celebrating the festivities collectively.”

Lin, a visitor from China, watched the fireworks at Al Sa’ad Plaza and was impressed by the show. She commented: “I hope they continue the fireworks for the next two days instead of just one. Nevertheless, the experience of celebrating Eid Al Adha here is unique because you can interact with people everywhere. Plus, you also get to see the Lusail Stadium up close, though I didn’t experience watching the World Cup final in the stadium, seeing it up close is rewarding for me.”

Lusail Boulevard has emerged as a vibrant hub for cultural and entertainment events, captivating locals and tourists alike with its diverse offerings since it hosted the World Cup winner’s parade last year, which drew tens of thousands of crowd.
