Mirchi launched its app in the country yesterday with easy-access to live radio stations, podcasts, and audio stories directly from a smartphone. This is just a year after it launched its radio station in 2021.
The event was attended by Indian Ambassador, H E Dr Deepak Mittal; Mirchione Business Director, Arun Lakshmanan; Indian Cultural Centre President, Babu Rajan; Indian Sports Centre President, Dr Mohan Thomas; Indian Business and Professional Council President, Jaffer Sadik; Indian Community Benevolent Forum President, Ziad Usman; and Mirchione RJs Anshu and Gaurav, among others.
Dr Mittal congratulated and commended Mirchi with the launch of the app saying it “will connect all Indians to their roots, to their homes, with hyper-local information from their cities, even though far from their homeland.”
He also highlighted the importance of radio and underscored that it has become “a voice for entertainment, infotainment while you are on the move, going to the workplace, going for leisure, anywhere you are, you can stay connected, stay entertained.”
The app is available for both Android and iOS users, also in one’s car enabled with Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
Mirchi app will likewise offer original audio series and stories, podcasts, audio content in over ten Indian languages across genres including drama, romance, horror, and comedy.
Entertainment India Network Limited (ENIL), which owns Mirchi, Chairman Vineet Jain, meanwhile said the launch of the app further cements their position as a highly specialised multi-content, multi-format, and multi-lingual music and entertainment brand for Indians everywhere.
