Doha: The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) will implement a field survey on the competitiveness of the Qatari economy, in cooperation with the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland, in preparation for the World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) to be issued by the Institute in June.
In a statement yesterday, the PSA said that the field survey, scheduled in March, explores the views of managers and CEOs in companies about the various systems and aspects of the business environment that affect Qatar’s ranking and its competitiveness. The results of the survey will be supported by complementary official data and statistics.
The IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook measures the strengths and weaknesses of the Qatari economy in four axis - economic performance, government efficiency, business sector efficiency, and infrastructure - and compares them with other countries covered in the book.
President of the Planning and Statistics Authority H E Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit said that the World Competitiveness Yearbook supports decision makers in identifying areas of business improvement, thus Qatar’s competitiveness, as well as providing important information to potential investors and interested people from the general public.
The State of Qatar ranked 17th out of 64 countries in the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2021.
