Exhibition on Dates, Ramadan supplies to begin tomorrow

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality and Hassad Food Company will organize an exhibition on dates and Ramadan supplies at the conclusion of the first edition of the Umm Salal Winter Festival, at the Umm Salal Central Market, from tomorrow, February 25 until March 1.

The exhibition will provide a wide range of dates of various types and varieties, with the aim of meeting the needs of consumers in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, in addition to complementary products such as perfumes and Ramadan table supplies, with a focus on dates as the main focus of the event.

The exhibition will be open from 9am to 1pm and then from 4pm to 8pm, stated the Ministry on its social media account. 

Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department of the Ministry of Municipality Yousef Khalid Al Khulaifi said that the exhibition includes a variety of activities during the festival which will contribute to highlighting local agricultural products and enhance their access to consumers.

He pointed out that the event coincides with the preparation period for the holy month of Ramadan, which reflects the ministry's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and meeting the needs of the local community.

For his part, General Manager of Aswaq for Food Facilities Management Company Mohammed Ghanem Al Kubaisi stressed that the exhibition supports national products, especially dates, which are a major part of the food heritage of the State of Qatar.

He added that during the Umm Salal Winter Festival, Aswaq worked to provide marketing platforms for local farmers and producers, ensuring that the needs of the local market are met and the national product is supported.

The first edition of the Umm Salal Winter Festival witnessed the organization of six specialized exhibitions to support local products.
